The Royal Marines’ Mud Run
The Royal Marines’ mud run is the hardest part of their 32-week training course. These Royal Marine aspirants participate in the event because they aspire to wear the coveted Green Beret, which designates them as the most elite of Britain’s fighting forces. Imagine you are being forced to do twice harder than your regular military routine in thick mud that you can even barely move and take at least 45 minutes. People who died because of quicksand are not because they were pulled under and drowned. They were trapped and couldn’t escape as the sea level rose above them. So basically, they were mainly killed by the high tide, not the quicksand.
Military Calisthenics Workouts: The US Navy’s Cold Water Training
The US Navy’s cold water training is not training. It’s torture. Exposing yourself to cold water (50 degrees in winter) for hours to increase your immunization to cold temperature is just the easiest section of the training course. For the most part, navy Seal Trainees have both of their hands and feet tied as they are drowned in the pool. They also have to perform various activities without touching the edges of the pool for almost half an hour. After that, the torture even gets worst. Trainers are now taking part and will attack the defenseless trainees until they drown.
Participating in this kind of military physical training is like putting yourself halfway to death. It’s too risky and torturous; this will surely inflict physical and mental damage whether you pass it or not. 75% of US Navy trainees every year fail from cold water training; most of them actually just drop out. Some even die during the training.
Military Calisthenics Workouts: The Taiwans’ Marine Road To Heaven
Taiwan’s military chooses to subject its soldiers to both mental and psychological duress. This ensures that the soldier withstands even the most difficult combat situations. The road to heaven test is the final step of a 9-week intense amphibious training program, and it challenges learners to complete a leopard crawl through a 150-foot path strewn with jagged corals and boulders.
